Dear Client,
I would like to draw your attention to two useful accounts, My Service Canada Account (MSCA), and the Ontario Business Registry.
The MSCA allows you to apply, view and update your information for Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), and Old Age Security (OAS). For example, you can view your CPP contributions, and estimated monthly CPP benefits. To register for this account, please visit the link:
The Ontario Business Registry was launched last October to allow businesses to complete a range of transactions online from registering a new business to dissolving an existing business and everything in between. To register for this account, please visit the link:
One mandatory requirement for corporations is to file an annual (information) return which basically updates the company information including the directors and officers. In the past this used to be filed by your accountant within the corporate income tax return. This now must be done on this new digital registry. A one-time exemption from filing online applied to returns that were due May 15, 2021 to October 18, 2021 of last year.
